Cursor Drifting

My cursor drifts out of controll. What causes this? I have passed all the
updates and virus scans I have. My system is XP SP3, I am using an add-on
mouse with a laptop (Dell Latitude D800)

Replace the battery in the mouse (assuming it's a wireless mouse) and/or
disable the touchpad and/or keep your fingers away from the touchpad.
