I keep getting this error when trying to update windows xp

Error 0X8OO7043C.......Can anyone help me with this!

Means: ERROR_NOT_SAFEBOOT_SERVICE.
Translation: You need a service which is not available in safe mode.

I suspect that you're not in Safe Mode when you encounter this problem. Do
you have more than one (1) anti-virus application installed and loading at
boot?

Tip: Temporarily disable real-time protection by your anti-virus and/or
anti-spyware applications (e.g., CounterSpy, Spysweeper, Spybot Tea Timer,
AVG Anti-Spyware) and/or any third-party firewall (e.g., ZA) before
attempting to install the update(s). If you disable the third-party
firewall, make certain that you enable the Windows Firewall!
