RE: Issue with IE7
Others have mentioned that Flash works in IE 7, and I can verify that it
works for me too. There are a lot of pages on Adobe's website for management
of Flash Player and Shockwave if you also have that. Just poke around a
little more and you'll get it working. I've found that allowing a reasonable
Flash cache size is essential for smooth Flash movie playing. But it might
be my old PC's fault there. Oh well, it runs well enough.
About Adobe PDF readers: I have been using version 5 for over 6 years
without a problem, never a virus, never a failure to open something. I'm not
impressed by the new versions of the Reader. Look on an old Drivers CD for
an old Version 5 and try that (uninstall the newer one first). Then tell it
to NOT open in a browser page. I guarantee, all your headaches with PDF's
will go away forever. Unless you plan to fill out PDF tax forms for the IRS
or something. For me, it's worth the tradeoff to never have PDF crash.
