IE7 ActiveX setings are not working in XP

I'm having same problem as smaxx55 11/8/2008, except I'm running XP home on
my desk top. Can't get past "change IE settings to allow download of ActiveX
and scripting" I've changed security settings, added website to "trusted
sites", variety of other setting changes, all instructions I can find, etc.
I've tried with and without firewall (Microsoft and McAfee). I have a laptop
running XP and IE7 works fine on the same web site. I've compared IE
settings and that didn't solve the problem. Any advice will be very much
appreciated.
