Printing problems after upgrading to IE-7

I was advised to upgrade my IE.

After downloading the newer version and also Service Pack 3, my printer will
not allow me the "selection" option. It is greyed out.

I can sometimes select a passage and get the "selection" option by going to
print preview, but that doesn't work on pop-up windows (such as printing a
label from UPS). In that case I have to print the whole window, and ruin 2
labels in the process.

How can I get my printer to allow me the "selection" option whenever I want
to print a page?

I have an HP Deskjet 6940. HP can't help. We tried using a universal
driver, but the problem persists.

If the problem did NOT occur before you installed WinXP SP3...
