I have just found out from Adobe that some flash sites read the installed
version of Flash Player as V1 rather than V10, and therefore need to be
patched.

This accounts for the problems I (and I suspect many others) are suddenly
experiencing.

Apparently adobe are emailing as many registered developers as possible with
this advice, but don't hold your breath.
