CannSearch buttons greyed in IE7, ctrl+p does not work etc.

Hi,
After having worked in Firefox for a short time -and after some patch rounds
of Vista- I started IE7 and had some problems.

1. I can start a search box in IE7 with crtl+f, but the buttons are greyed
out
2. ctrl+p does not work anymore. When I start Firefox after having tried in
IE7, Firefox intercepts the printing call I made in IE7 and launches a
Printing Dialog box
3. Submit buttons on web sites do not work anymore either
4. McAfee displays a blank screen of the security center
5. So do some websites
6 I can not login anymore onto windows newsgroups. The login screen is
blank. I have tried to send this mail anyway, but it appears red in the
newsgroup

1. What's the IE version in IE> Help> About?

2. Verify that IE is the default browser in Control Panel> Default Programs>
Set your program defaults and Set program access and computer defaults.

3. 1. With the warning that a reset will delete autocomplete data, such as
passwords and you will have to reinstall /re-enable browser add-ons, work
through this
