How to launch default browser on link click?
When users clicks on URL link inside IE, another instance of IE is
launched. How can I change this so that the default browser is
launched instead?

Thanks!

Re: How to launch default browser on link click?
Hi,
Which version of Windows?
Which version of Internet Explorer?
What's the default browser?
If another browser is the default, why is Internet Explorer open?

Well, user is reporting this behaviour in Windows XP SP2, using IE 6.
The default browser is Firefox 3.

IE is initially coming up because some HP OEM software is bringing up
a welcome page.

Thanks!

Hi,
If the default browser is properly set from Control Panel> Add or remove
programs> Set program access and defaults, I would disable the HP program
from
Start> Run> msconfig> Startup or using a third-party utility such as Startup
Control Panel from http://www.mlin.net/StartupCPL.shtml

The HP program *may* be listed here, as necessary or unnecessary:
HP and Compaq Desktop PCs - Uninstalling Software in Windows XP :
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/g...reg_R1002_USEN
Otherwise, a web search should provide that information.
