Slow Downloads w/ Belkin Wireless Router

I'm using a Belkin Wireless Router and it seems to be causing a significant
slow down of my internet access speed - downloads take 30% longer than when I
hard wire directly to my modem. I do require a router as I have 2 computers
sharing the modem but is there another option?
