IE 7 Out of memory at line: xxx error
When a XPPro SP2 desktop user is going to an internal web application hosted
on a W2K IIS 5.0 Server using IE 7 everything is working normal but after a
period of time of 15 minutes to several hours while maneuvering between the
buttons on the page it will begin to generate errors “Internet Explorer
Server:Access Denied” or “Internet Explorer Out of memory at line: xxx “
(161, 147, and several others) and once one of these errors pops up the
general tab disappears from file>internet options (it was there prior to the
error) and if you open another IE window the general tab is there it only
disappears from the browser window generating the errors. If the user closes
IE and re-opens and logs back into the web app the cycle starts over again
after a period of time. This all started when the IIS 5.0 server system disk
ran out of disk space we then moved any files or directories that could be
safely moved to another partition and emptied recycle etc to gain about 1GB
of free space rebooted and all was fine we thought. The system partition is
only 4GB so this is a common step that we have to do about every 12 months or
so and has never caused issues before once free space has been restored. We
have considered IIS app pool time out or memory leaks etc. but nothing has
changed or been added and has always worked fine until this disk space issue
on the server. Any ideas or advise to resolve this would be great!
