IE 7 history will not delete ?

I can't delete the history list in IE 7, running vista SP1.
I want to delete the pull down list from the address bar.

I've tried all known and recommended ways, including RIES.

what is wrong?

Hi,
If you don't mind losing the "run" history, recent docs and recent programs,
try this...
Right-click the Start Button> Properties> Customize> To remove records of
recently... > click on Clear.

Or install CCleaner www.ccleaner.com and use it to clear the TypedURLs list-
that's the list you're trying to clear.

Post back if those methods don't work for you.

Deleting browsing history does not affect MRUs (e.g., typed addresses).

the second option did the job! great!
the first option didn't work for me. I run Vista in dutch. couldn't find
anything similar to "To remove records of recently... > click on Clear" in
the start menu options.

but it's fixed now, so thanks a lot!

1. Open Regedit.

2. Delete the values that you want to get rid of at this path:

HEKY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\TypedURLS

Or

run a program like SecureWindows from PC-Kitchen:
