Bug with closing tabs
Here's the scenario: I have 3 tabs open, and the first one is active. I use
my mouse to click the "X" on the second (middle) tab, and then, press
CTRL+Tab to go to the third tab. But it doesn't go to the third tab. It goes
to the middle tab (which hasn't closed yet). The tab doesn't close, but when
it's selected (it remains in the tab list), my window doesn't change. In
fact, the browsing area doesn't change at all no matter which tab I am on. If
I press F5, though, the tab I should be on refreshes. The only way to resolve
this is to kill IE, and restart.

Re: Bug with closing tabs
Always state your full Windows version (e.g., WinXP SP3; Vista SP1) and IE
version when posting to this newsgroup, please.
Does this behavior persist if you start IE(7; 8B2) in No Add-ons mode?

Re: Bug with closing tabs
I'm trying to replicate these situations (with and without addons blocked),
but, frankly it's difficult. With or without addons blocked, the tab usually
closes so fast that I can't even switch to it. I'll keep trying to close and
switch with addons blocked, and reply when I can.

You could also test on another tack based on the assumption that disabling add-ons
might have done something more than just speed up your procedure (and thus make
it harder to reproduce). E.g. consider the possibility that disabling only one (or more)
of those add-ons might have the same effect... ; )
Good luck
