Maybe this file type is not recognized by IE7. What do these files do?

It is a MathCad file that is being added to our Course Management System.
The file is XML format but when added to the CMS, it gets added with a .XMCD
extension. It won't open in IE7 but will open in Firefox.

Have you tried simply renaming it to .xml or opening with a standalone XML
editor? You can download a free XML editor from MS' website:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en
or use other free and open-source software available (besides FF of course).
