I would strongly recommend switching back to Firefox, since IE 8 is
still a beta.
I would even suggest that you wait to upgrade your OS for a few weeks or
months after IE 8 has been released, to let the early adopters vet the
new software.
Then, when the time comes, carefully prepare for the upgrade (e.g., read
the release notes, search the web for install tips, backup) and do the
deed. If your OS was in good shape before the upgrade you will have a
trouble free install.
