Interesting Icon Discrepancy

Changing the Internet Shortcut Icon in [XP2 / IE6 through folder options /
file types / change Icon] causes IE NOT TO OPEN as a bootup/startup item. It
will open manually, however. Reverting to the default icon shortcut fixes
the problem. It would seem that IE should be able to open as a startup item,
regardless of what icon is used. Any way to change the icon without this
problem?

Try saving the icon to a local file and then point the shortcut at the local file?

Doesn't do it!

I can change every Internet Shortcut's icon w/o a problem.........except the
file type: Internet Explorer...(opens with IE) If I change the default icon
IE will not open as a startup item! Curious.
