IE 7 Closes Upon Opening

I am running Win XP SP3. I have IE 6 installed and working properly and all
Win updates installed. When I install IE 7 it will only open quickly and
then close right away. I recently mistakenly installed IE 8, but did a
system restore to go back to IE 6. I like IE 7 and am upset I can't get it
to work. Any ideas?

Before installing IE 7 you need to carefully follow the procedures
described here (which, for the most part, should be followed whenever
you install or upgrade software):

If you do not follow these instructions you will likely have a damaged
or incomplete installation.
