IE7 crashes when trying to use Edit in Datasheet in Sharepoint

Hi!

We have an intranet site built on WSS 3.0. On my workstation I have
Office 2003 SP3 (word,excel, powerpoint, access) and
office 2007 (sharepointdesigner 2007, onenote 2007 and inforPath 2007)

When I access our intranet wss site and try to use Edit In Datasheet View
feature of some Document Library IE 7 craches with the following error:


AppName: iexplore.exe AppVer: 7.0.6000.16705 ModName: mso.dll
ModVer: 12.0.6213.1000 Offset: 0011e931

I have two mso.dll files in my Common Folder\Microsoft shared. One is under
office12 and another is under office11.

Is there a way to fix this?

Fixed by reinstalling Sharepoint components from Office 2007 distribution.

Hope this will be useful to others too!

Hi Zaur,

I've run into the same problem but require some further explanation.

I tried what you suggested but in unchecking all the other components
they were uninstalled!

I then reinstalled Office and the Windows SharePoint Services
components but IE7/6 still crashes.

I then tried a Repair of Office through AddRemove Software but this
did nothing either.

Can you possibly provide more detailed steps on what options you
selected from the Office Setup DVD??

- Use the Office 2007 disk to reinstall just the "Microsoft Sharepoint
Services Support"
- Deselect all applications during install except the component above
