Video but no audio from websites

I have a brand new HP with IE7 installed. I have not changed any settings.
When I play videos from news websites (such as CNN or Weather.com), the video
plays fine but there is no audio. My speakers are not muted and are turned
up (verified by playing an MP3 via WM player). I suspect it's some kind of
setting with IE.

Are you comfortable working with the Windows Registry?

If so, you might try modifying the Data Value for "AutoInsert" at the
following Key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\MediaPlayer\ NodeCLSIDs\{95037DA1-6ED9-4B27-8CFF-9AD3DFB0B2F2}

Change the Data Value of "AutoInsert" at the above Registry Key from "1" to
"0"(zero)
