PNGs don't show up instantly in IE 7

Hi everybody,
I'm developing a browser game (well, almost alpha/beta test time) and
here's my issue: I'm using pngs for graphics and when i "login" to
the game board only the background appears. I login with mozilla and
the pngs appear instantly. After quite a few refreshes, the pngs show
up in IE...

any ideas on what might be happening?

IE Web Development forum (submit a code snippet to stop crystal ball gazing
and WOT.)
