Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage

Hi! I am unable to view streaming video or video clips from websites. I can
download clips and they play in windows media player but not streaming. I
keep getting that stupid cannot display the webpage message, and I am
connecterd to the internet. I am using Vista home premium. I can browse all
websites so my internet connection is working. I appreciate any help.
