mouse doesn't function on certain websites

I am running IE7 with Windows Home Basic. About two weeks ago, on certain
web sites, the mouse stopped functioning. For example. on www.mail.com, if I
place a check mark to select messages and then click on "delete" or "move,"
nothing happens. Has anyone else had a similar problem?

The problem lies with the website not the mouse. It is not unusual for
'links' on websites not to respond to mouse 'clicks'.

The same sites work fine on my other computers running IE7 with Windows XP.
It is only the computer running Vista that has the problem.
