IE7 starts randomly

IE7 frequently starts on its own while I am in the middle of any other
program, or doing nothing on my Windows XP laptop. Frequently means about 8
times an hour, every day, all day long. It always opens to my home page. My
cache is cleaned regularly, which has no effect on the problem.

Any help would be wonderful. This is incredibly annoying.
