IE7 Send page by E-mail does not work

The "automatic" send link or page by email is not working in my IE 7.0.
Specifically these keystrokes: File>Send>LinkByEmail & File>Send>PageByEmail.
They should open up an email in Outlook, but no email is opening. It fails
but does not hang up the PC.

Any help would be appreciated!

Windows version (e.g., WinXP SP3; Vista SP1)? Outlook version?

Is Outlook selected as your default for mail in [Start [ | Settings |
Control Panel | Add/Remove Programs] | Set Program Access and Defaults *and*
at IE Tools | Internet Options | Programs | E-mail? ...in all User
Accounts?

Is Windows Live Mail also installed or was it ever installed?
