internet exploror 8

I have a adsl usb modem have upgraded to internet exploror 8 and cannot auto
connect on stat up. I have check connections both the auto connect and
connect every time are ticked put the one in dial up screen is not i have to
manual connect every time.is it possible to auto connect im useing viata home
premium.robin

its the same with ie7. auto works fine in win xp home put not vista
