IE 7 right click menu stopped working & new tab's tool menu is mis
Hi,
I have been with IE 7 for coupls of months and I have encounted an annoying
problem.
Sometimes when I was browsering internet, especially after I've open many
tabs in a single IE 7 application, "Right click menu" in IE 7 will stop
working and if I still trying to open a new tab, the tool menu bar in the new
tab will gone.
However, if I go back to my desktop, I can still pop up right click menu so
I think the problem belongs to IE 7.
I have checked task manager, and this problem seems happen when I reach a
high memory usage.
I am using IE 7, version 7.0.5730.13 and my OS is Windows XP SP3.
The problem does not happen if I use firefox, even with more opening tabs.

Re: IE 7 right click menu stopped working & new tab's tool menu is mis
=> Does this behavior persist if you start IE7 in No Add-ons mode? To start
IE7 in No Add-ons mode:
1. Right-click on the blue IE desktop icon and select Start without Add-ons;
or
2. Start > (All) Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Internet Explorer
(No add-ons).
Troubleshooting and Internet Explorer’s (No Add-ons) Mode:

=> Does the problem persist if you Reset IE7 Advanced settings (RIES)?

Re: IE 7 right click menu stopped working & new tab's tool menu is mis
Hi DZ,
This is a known issue and is caused by the cache filling up when you open a
lot of tabs/windows. You can either close some tabs or Clean your cache
occasionally from the options on Internet Options. See Tools>Internet
Options - General tab, Temporary Internet Files section - Settings button.
Use the recommended settings for the cache size This may not prevent it from
happening again when you have a lot of tabs/windows open.
Regards.

Re: IE 7 right click menu stopped working & new tab's tool menu is
Thanks Rob,
I will try with this workround to see if it helps. Since it is a known
issue, can it be fixed?
Cheers,

Use Task Manager or Process Explorer to check for a resources issue.
Also, this poster found another tool which may help you refine
your symptom description:

For others as unfamiliar with this serious limitation I suggest getting GDIview
