Can you help me? I am trying to solve some device driver problems to occur
in Vista that do not occur in Windows 7 beta. It occurred to me that if I
could use RegEdit to identify and select the portions of the registry that
work in Windows 7 beta, I might be able to transfer these sections and merge
them with the registry in Vista.

The first problem occurs with a device driver to support webcam operation
for my high definition camcorder. In Windows 7 beta, the device driver is
installed with no problem, but it is no installed properly in Vista.

The second problem occurs with my DWA552 PCI 11n wireless adapter. The
manufacturer's device driver athtrx.sys installs correctly in Vista but that
does not make the device work perfectly. In Windows 7 beta, my DWA552 works
perfectly, 24/7 without failure and with high bandwidth. The reason that it
works so well in Windows 7 beta is that Microsoft's install process installs
two device drivers for the DWA552, athrx.sys, written by Atheros and
vwifibus.sys, written by Microsoft. In both Windows 7 beta and Vista,
vwifibus.sys is found in /windows/system32/drivers/ but in Vista
vwifibus.sys is not installed. Hence, the DWA552 fails to deliver perfect
24/7 high bandwidth performance in Vista.

Can you please tell me what I must do to discover where in the registry in
Windows 7 beta, the registry code for devices like the two above can be
found?
