hard drives
I have a sata drive and IDE drive installed. Both are enabled in the bios,
both are listed by device manager. My problem is that the IDE drive does not
show up as a drive in windows explorer.
How do I fix please.

As this is a German part of the community it seems that you may have
posted by per accident.
I'd recommend the international English speaking group
microsoft.public.vista.hardware_devices

Good luck

I assume the IDE disk is a new one. Does it show up in the device manager?
If yes, you still have to create a partition and format the drive.
To do this, perform a right click on Computer in start menu and select
Manage.
Navigate to disk management, select your IDE disk and right click on it.
Create a partition, after finishing that format it with NTFS format.
If the disk is not listed in disk management, check the cabling (IDE cables
often tend to not sit properly in disk or controller plug).
Best greetings from Germany
Olaf
