dazed and confused

hi,my name is boone. i have a hp pavillion dv6500 laptop that i,m working on and heres the problem.some dummy deleted everything off the hard drive (vista home premium OEMAct,put xp in,now it wont register any drivers,go online or anything.it used to read cds&dvds now it just keeps saying operating system missing and i dont have a vista disk to try and reinstall everthing.what can i do ?
