Purchased HP Pavilion in 2010 loaded with programs

Hi Everyone,
This is my first post on VistaHeads and I'm having a problem with programs loaded on my Desktop PC. Used Google and Wikipedia but didn't find any beneficial answers.
When I purshased the PC it came fully loaded with MS versions of .NET, C++, SQL Server, and XML 4.0. Not being a developer or programmer, but a PC user and sales person, do I really need these programs on my home PC? Can't I just uninstall?

Would appreciate any suggestions I can get.
