Hello, new to Forum and to Vista
Hi, I just bought a new computer with Vista Home Premium and am enjoying both the computer and the OS for many reasons including speed! My previous 7 years old computer (with Windows XP and only 0.5 GB RAM) was very slow in all aspects. So the performance contrast is amazing.
So far I have very much enjoyed Vista and only had one unexplained freeze up. I just restarted and was back to normal.
I found this site Vistaheads due to a search with the Question: How to exit the TaskManager! The immediate response to that question was to select the X button, but the problem was that the X button was not present. My thanks to a follow up posting which explained that the TaskManager window had moved into small footprint mode and that a double click on the border would exit that mode and give access to the X button. So THANKS to the person making that post.
At this time I only have one very broad question: Should I switch to Windows 7? I supposedly have until February 2010 to exercise a free replacement, so I will wait for awhile to see user's response to the newly released (Oct 22) OS. In the meantime, I am sure this forum has a thread on that question, so I will see if I can find it.
