Here to say Hi and thanks

I haven't posted yet because so far I have been able to find answers to my problems by searching the posts. I know one day I will not be so blessed, so I thought I had better break the ice now and post a little something. I love computers, hate Vista, and made a complete fool of myself by trying to install a retail version of XP Pro that I had. But I learned a lot, so I can't complain too much. I'm waiting to see if Windows 7 holds the promise that it claims. No need to jump from the pan into the fire; I'll let others go first and break through the problems. That doesn't sound very nice, but my Dad always said, "Never buy a car in its first model year." I've come to realize that there is a lot of truth to that.

In most forums I am known as Grateful, but once in a while I run across a forum where someone else has claimed it. But let it be known; I am the most Grateful of the gratefuls for all the free and excellent advice given here and many other dedicated forums. Cudos to all who volunteer their knowledge and talents! Being taught to fish for myself feeds me for life and allows me to teach what I know to others, thereby spreading the wealth (voluntarily and happily- not so******ticly.)
