DVD burner was not found

Hi,

I have just joined this forum. I am a retiree and must admit to not being very technical minder and lack knowledge of all the computer jargon, so please bear this in mind if you can help me.

On my laptop, I use Windows Vista. I enjoy downloading photos of my 11 grandchildren, especially their birthday parties, then burning them onto a DVD-RW. I have just tried to do it again and the computer is telling me "DVD burner was not found and to make sure the DVD burner is connected and installed". I don't know what has happened. Can anyone please help me?
