Unable to complete any action requiring Administrative or Standard Rights
Without any obvious changes to my set-up I lost the ability to perform virtually any function requiring Administrative or Standard Rights. This includes everything from putting a shortcut on the desktop, running many of my programs and restoring to an earlier time (System Restore). Changes to my User Accounts don't work. Starting in Safe Mode doesn't help. I am not even able to reinstall Vista and restore from my back-up drive.
I have read almost everything Google and Microsoft have to offer without any success.
There appears to be a lot of people in similar situations but there is no help in sight.
