My vista re install disabled XP
Hi everyone.
New to all this and seem to have made a boo boo.
Have one of those horrible pre-installed Vista business setups on my laptop.
Did a dump of that to DVD and installed a new drive.
Wanted to have XP as well so installed that first, then did the Vista thing.
Ouch. Those installations give you NO options at ALL and simply WIPE everything on C drive.
OK, reformatted, installed XP on another partition and THEN did Vista once more.
Fine, no XP. Got EasyBCD and created a multi boot? No, it insists a whole lot of files are missing from XP.
How come most of these weren't on D drive and how can I restore those???
Any help will be most appreciated

Re: My vista re install disabled XP
I have an Acer laptop, Centrino duo with Intel chip set and 320 Gig drive. Partition C now has Vista, the bane of my life and the reason I am trying out other things. D (under Vista) contains XP and E is backup.
In reality D is split and has Linux on it as well, but that seems to be totally transparent to Vista.

EasyBCD DID give me a list of files to get and where to do so, but by the time I re ran it to do so, it no longer wanted to display these.
