itunes problem

I can't burn a CD from itunes because it says "no recording software" or "reinstall itunes to restore registry problem"

I've only had this new Vista 64 bit versions for 2 months and still trying to find solutions to some of these driver issues

I saw different kinds of free registry "fixing" software but I'm hesitant to try anything...any idea what the best solution is for this?
