Wallpaper photo automatically switches to black screen (solid colors)

Hi all,

This is my first post ever, but I've read several of your posts, and looks like you really know your stuff!

I install my favorite photo as wallpaper, and while I'm running a program, or even if I leave the computer to go have dinner, my photo background reverts to the 'solid colors' black screen. How can I make the photo remain?
Sure would appreciate any help!
