Hello with a searching question

Just arrived and happy to find a community of Vista users. I was beginning to think even MS had abandoned those of us who are trying it.

Currently searching for a .vob converter to wmv or avi. Ran a number of searches here but no luck so far (thirty second limit is a little strange but gives me time to get another cup of java and contemplate my ignorance).

It would be so kind of someone with skills to point me at a software prog, preferrably free? — that I can download to do the required conversion. It's probably a one-time affair.
