newbie need help

Hi folks

As you all can see i'm a newbie here & need some help. I've just bought a laptop & its running vista. Ive downloaded some games on to it but some work & some don't as i get a message that my video card is out or date or its doing funny things. Has anyone got any ideas how i can sort this matter out please. Thanks
