Security Update for Microsoft XML Core Services 4.0 Service Pack 2 (KB936181)
the Security Update for Microsoft XML Core Services 4.0 Service Pack 2 (KB936181) kept reinstalling. I finally used the windows install cleanup utility to uninstall the above and then allowed MS Update to reinstall. the problem seems to be solved
