Hello, I'll bet my problem is common
I'm Dave in Nashville and I recently purchased a laptop with the Vista OS. Nothing else available!! My problem is that I can't connect to my Epson printer installed on my XP network at home. The printer comes up in the 'Add Printer Wizard' for the network printer but it will not connect and share the printer. It just says 'access denied'. I have installed the Vista driver on my Vista notebook and it will print fine if I use a direct USB cable to the notebook.
I've had 2 network administrator friends here to look at this and no solution, both were baffled why I can't connect. Does anyone have an idea why this is such a problem? What's up? The printer works fine thru the network on my wife's XP laptop downstairs!!
My only solution is to connect the cable to the printer and use it without network access which is a pain since I have to connect it several times a day!
Thanks for any help. Dave
