What the hell...?
...So...a VERY important question posed by the poster of this thread--yet no replies, huh? No useful ones at least.
Man, I've been using Acid Pro 6.0 for the past couple of years--on a VERY slow and crappy computer. I finally got myself a nice, fast laptop and guess what: I CAN'T install Acid on Windows Vista.
That alone isn't a shocker to me, because of course: (relatively) new OS means compatibility issues with your beloved programs. The thing that pisses me off is that Microsoft never bothered hooking folks up with updates/service packs/etc. that could rectify the problem.
I've searched and downloaded some stuff from the Microsoft download site that was SUPPOSED to help solve the problem, but the things I downloaded didn't do squat. I KNOW I downloaded the correct files because I was directly linked to them in another forum that was packed with other Acid using Vista owners who was having the same problem.
Hey Microsoft: get a clue! ACID Pro is used by CRAPLOADS of people all across the planet!! So why not help us out??!!
Sorry, but I'm VERY agitated by all the dead-ends that I've run into in the past few hours on my quest to get ACID Pro 6.0 working on my new computer.
BTW, to add injury to the insult--because of my Vista-powered computer not having whatever "missing" file I need, I can't even fully UNinstall Acid. Its BS, I tells ya.
