Can connect to network but not internet

Hello,

My friend has a Vista laptop and he is connecting to my network. Once he enters the network information, the laptop is connected to the network with full strength. But Vista will not connect to the internet.

I have an XP laptop and that connects to the internet without a problem. Another friend can easily connect to the internet using a Mac.

The Vista laptop can access the internet using a cable as well. The Vista laptop was purchased in France and has a French install of Vista. I cannot help him troubleshoot it as everything is in French. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
