My Internet is Stuck in Local Only Mode and I don't know what to do
I'm having trouble connecting a wireless network on my laptop. I have a Dell inspiron 1525 with Windows Vista and the Internet connection is stuck on local only. I tried running Network Diagnostics to "Automatically get new IP settings but it seemed like even finish it just said that "it couldn't fix the problem.
I tried resetting the network adapter but it didn't work. I tried shutting off the WiFi card and turning it back on but that didn't work either.
Even though I can't connect to my wireless network on my Dell. I'm not having any trouble connecting to it on my old laptop,a Gateway, that has Windows XP. I'm assuming that it's not the router since I'm not having any problems connected with the Gateway laptop. Why am I able to connect with the laptop with XP but not the one with vista ? How can I fix this?
