IE7 & IE8 crash after loading PDF file

Am running Windows Vista 32 Home
Have upgraded from IE7 to IE 8
Have upgraded to Adobe Reader 9.1

for 2 mos or so when I open a PDF file online (ex, bank statement from online banking, statement from a credit card website)) ie "stops working and needs to close"

any ideas? this drives me nuts as I cannot view or print statements from any online account. No error codes are given-have sent reports but no solutions given.

Maybe you are having problem with the windows otherwise its working fine.
