Questions on secondary Windows XP internet connection
I have a new Vista 64 bit laptop (Acer) that I'd like to use as my desktop, replacing an older Dell workstation. However, although my new laptop with Vista AND my original Dell desktop still connect to the internet easily, through my original WildBlue satellite LAN connection and D-Link router(Vista laptop is wireless), my husband's Dell workstation connected through the same router, no longer brings up the internet, although it shows it is connected. I used PCMover software and cable to copy my Dell workstation files to my new Vista laptop, but am struggling with certain programs. Like iTunes. It is installed correctly with 8.0 iTunes, but does not recognize my iTouch when it is plugged in, so I am still having to use my main Dell workstation.
Would it be adviseable (as well as less expensive) to get rid of the WildBlue satellite that I have detested since I installed it, and set up a new wireless network through my Alltel provider? Would it work with both my Vista as well as my husbands' Windows XP Home?
Please help. Thank you
