wireless problem

I have a laptop that uses windows vista and a trendnet wap and a wep key I can't get them to work. I have it all set up and my duaghter's laptop that is windows xp works just fine wireless but mine won't. When I try to connect it tells me that the wireless is unable to connect due to unknown reasons. I connect hardwired just fine also. Please help

I had the same problem with my desktop. After much trial and error, I found completing uninstalling the drivers for network adapter and then reinstalling them with the manufacturer's files(do not let windows auto detect), I finally got them to work.

Hope this works...
