Frequent Disconnections streaming and gaming

hi guys, il be grateful for your help

just recently my gfriend and i have been gettin frequent disconnections while using the net. we first noticed it when we played online games we'd get booted off about every 6 minutes, then after about 30mins of playing only one of us would get booted off every 6 minutes, then after another 30 mins of play neither of us would have a problem until we exited the game. on re-entering the game we go through the same process. im sure its not the games fault cos it happens while we stream vids too, and downloading larger files is impossible.
it wasnt a problem until about two weeks ago with both laptops, i guess it might have something to do with the belkin but iv updated the firmware and resotered factory settings a number of times and iv played around with the settings myself.
any idea??
