Ultimate 64-bit not hibernating the way it used to
I'm running 64-bit Ultimate. I prefer to put the computer into hibernate mode when not using it. I like to be able to come in and tap the mouse or keyboard and start working again immediately. I had no problems doing this for about two years. About 8 months ago the computer suddenly stopped fully coming out of hibernate mode. By that I mean that when I hit the mouse or keyboard the fans and lights would come on in the tower, but the USB and HDMI ports were, for one reason or another, not getting power. I had to manually shut down and restart to get the USB ports and display working properly. Being that this is a $4000 custom built PC, that made me a bit nervous. I have searched for months to try to find a way to fix this issue and have found nothing. I have found a few troubleshooting sites and have made some changes so that now the computer will go into hibernate mode 1 minute after I click the power button in the start menu. However, the keyboard or mouse will not bring it out of hibernate, I have to use the power button manually to turn it on. The keyboard and mouse are both set to be able to bring the computer out of sleep mode in the device manager. Also, it takes the computer about a minute longer to come out of hibernation than it did when it was working properly. If anyone has any suggestions on how to fix this they would be greatly appreciated.
