DVD drive will not erase/format
Lite-On ATAPI iHAP222 will not easily even recognize a new, unformatted DVD. Sometimes it looks for a long time. Right-click for properties shows totally used disc, although it's blank. Drive will not erase or format the disc.
I have checked the Microsoft web site, but the info there was no help. Their page talked about sound devices. Latest drivers; firmware up-to-date.
Uninstalled and reinstalled the drive in device manager.
With a new DVD-RW in the drive, Explorer ejects the disc, telling me to please insert a disc. But doing that does not resolve the problem.
In device mgr, error msg is, "Windows did not start a related device driver." But there are three other drivers loaded.
What needs to be done?
