New Hard Drive Loses Letter Assignment on Reboot
I recently installed a 3rd sata hard drive (a 1.5 TB Samsung). The drive is correctly recognized at startup and by Vista. I initially had problems with formatting the drive but fixed this by updating to the latest SATA controller drivers from nVidia. After formatting and assigning a drive letter through disk manager everything looks fine and I can move files on and off the new drive. However, after I reboot the drive no longer has letter assigned to it. Going back into disk manager I can see the volume and re-assign a letter to it. No information is lost, it just very annoying to have to manually re-assign a letter to the drive every time I restart the machine.
Any help would be much appreciated.
